‘Our public housing maintenance programme is ongoing and through our maintenance day service enhancement offering, we are able to complete more work with our available resources. This is all part of our efforts to take back our public housing units – invest, boost and enhance safety for the dignity of our tenants and communities. From Atlantis to Hout Bay and all areas in between, our maintenance days are a great way to pool our resources and attend to urgent work as well as general maintenance.

‘The wellbeing and safety of our tenants are of utmost importance to us and our maintenance programme ensures that we have functioning public housing, including good plumbing, electrical systems and structurally sound buildings. 

‘Our maintenance investment over the next three years will also translate into savings over the long-term, as major repairs and upgrades will become less frequent. Our mission to keep our public housing units well maintained continues and we encourage residents to assist us in caring for our affordable housing,’ said Councillor Pophaim.
